vests are going to be spring's number one accessory. lace ones, denim ones, crochet ones, oh my! throw one on and you immediately spruce up and add a little more sophistication to your outfit: a delicate lace vest can dress up any casual outfit, a chunky oversized denim vest lends a hipster vibe while a rugged leather motorcycle vest adds punk, glamour and a little mystery.

happy may! while the first day of spring was technically in march, may is when the leaves are popping back out on tree branches and flowers are shooting up from the soil. the weather here has been gorgeous the past few days. still a bit balmy but wonderfully sunny and calming.

a little about me, i got my driver's permit last week and am looking into driving schools. i've already purchased my jet blue ticket for a 2 1/2 month trip to new orleans, louisiana and i am ecstastic. once finals are over and i'm all registered for next semester, it'll officially be the start of my summer. that plus the 90-degree weather of nola right now = heaven.

i am loving crochet for spring! peekaboo sweaters, easy shrugs & vests and flowing dresses, sigh.

soup + salad

applebee's oriental chicken salad & southwest chili with jalapenos

there was literally like four pieces of bite-size chicken in this salad (count 'em!) but the presentation was so adorable that i let it go. the chili was literally two spoonfuls, haha, but you get what you pay for!
